Restaurant Uniforms and Supplies for Punjab and the Chandigarh Tricity: Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Chandigarh

Punjab eats out seriously. Big-format family restaurants, cafes, bakeries, fine dining rooms, banquet halls and a fast-growing delivery scene all need staff who look the part. For owners in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Chandigarh, the challenge is finding a supplier who can make restaurant uniforms for Punjab and the Chandigarh tricity with proper fabric, branding and sizing, without needing a trip to Delhi every other week.
RestroCart designs and manufactures in Naraina, New Delhi, and delivers across India. We do not have an office in Punjab or Chandigarh, and we do not need one for you to get it right. This guide shows how the remote process works, what we have made for Punjab restaurants, how to judge swatches at your own outlet, and how to plan around a Punjab winter.
What we have made for Punjab restaurants and beyond
A few of the brands we have dressed and supplied, from Amritsar and Ludhiana to Mohali, described by what we actually made:
- Bon Chic, Amritsar: service uniforms in a green-striped shirt and beige trousers, housekeeping sets, branded hoodies in several colourways and green table napkins with the logo. The full story is in our Bon Chic winter uniform case study.
- Elgin Cafe, Amritsar: cream service shirts with green aprons, grey canvas bib aprons with a contrast pocket, olive waistcoats, manager wear, bottle-green knitwear with the embroidered logo, and leather aprons. See how we dressed Elgin Cafe's managers.
- Lord Elgin, Ludhiana: a steward uniform of striped shirt, tan waistcoat and black trousers, golden-brown canvas aprons with leather cross-back straps, tan leather aprons and gold name badges. The set is on the Lord Elgin portfolio page.
- Chaat Art: a yellow chef coat with black piping, a black polo, a black tote bag and branded stickers.
- Burgflix, Mohali: a branded insulated delivery bag, printed paper bags, stationery and thank-you cards.

What Punjab and tricity outlets typically order
Every brief is different, but the region has a recognisable pattern. Hospitality in Punjab is generous and visible: large family dining rooms, banquet and wedding business, busy sweets and bakery counters, and cafes that compete hard on look and feel. The tricity adds a younger cafe and delivery crowd around Mohali and Chandigarh. Uniforms follow that mix.
| Outlet type | Typical kit | Regional note |
|---|---|---|
| Family or fine dining restaurant | Service shirts, waistcoats, half aprons, chef coats, manager blazers or suits | Waistcoats and tailored layers read well in formal Punjab dining rooms |
| Cafe or bakery cafe | Shirts or tees, canvas or leather bib aprons, caps, name badges | Canvas and leather aprons with strap details carry the brand |
| Banquet or event team | Service shirts, waistcoats, chef coats, extra spares for temporary staff | Wedding season means peak headcount; order spares early |
| QSR, burger or chaat brand | Chef coats or shirts, caps, aprons, delivery bags, packaging | Bright brand colours and matching packaging, as with Chaat Art and Burgflix |
| Every outlet, November to February | Sweaters, hoodies, zip jackets or windcheaters | A branded warm layer is not optional in a Punjab winter |
If your team works banquets alongside the restaurant, plan the banquet spares in the same order. Temporary staff for the wedding season need uniforms too, and they are far easier to add at the sample stage than in the middle of November.
How remote ordering works, step by step
An out-of-city order can be completed from start to finish without a trip to Delhi. The process is built so that the important decisions happen with physical fabric in your hands, not just images on a phone.
| Step | What happens | Your part |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Brief | You send roles, headcount, logo, colours and dates on WhatsApp or email | Photos of your interiors help us pick colours that suit the room |
| 2. Mockups | Our in-house design team sends digital mockups per role with fabric suggestions | Give feedback in one consolidated message |
| 3. Swatches | Physical fabric swatches are couriered to your outlet | Check them in your own lighting, next to your furniture |
| 4. Sample | One sample set per role is made and shipped for approval | Have real staff try it on during a shift |
| 5. Sizes | A size chart and measurement sheet come from us; for larger teams, ask about a size set to try on | Note each person's size, and add names if you want kits packed per person |
| 6. Production | Bulk production with quality checks, after sample approval | Nothing, except answering quick questions |
| 7. Delivery | Sorted and bagged by role and size (or per person) and shipped to the outlet | Count and check against the packing list on arrival |
The timing is the same as for a Delhi order: typically 2 to 3 weeks for design and sampling, and 2 to 4 weeks of production after approval, plus transit, which we confirm with the quote. Our ordering process guide explains each stage in more detail.
Judging swatches at your own outlet
Swatches are where remote orders succeed or fail. A colour that looks right on a phone screen can look completely different under warm restaurant lighting. When the swatch envelope arrives, do not just look at it on the desk.
Swatch check, before you approve
- Take each swatch around the room: against the walls, upholstery, table tops and signage, once in daylight and again under evening lights.
- Check the apron fabric next to the shirt fabric; they will be seen together all day.
- Rub the fabric between your fingers: is it stiff, soft, heavy, light? Ask for the blend and GSM if not labelled.
- Dampen one edge and time how long it takes to dry, especially for kitchen and bar pieces.
- Photograph the swatches in your space and send the photos back with your comments.
- If two options are close, ask for both in the sample stage rather than guessing.

Winter is the single biggest difference between a Punjab uniform brief and one for a southern or coastal city. From late November to February, Amritsar, Ludhiana and the tricity get cold and foggy, and staff at entrances, outdoor seating, parking and delivery need more than a shirt. If you do not supply a warm layer, staff will wear their own jackets over your uniform, and your brand disappears for a third of the year.
- Knitwear: V-neck sweaters or cardigans in a brand colour, as we made for Elgin Cafe, work well for service staff indoors and keep a smart look.
- Hoodies and sweatshirts: right for casual cafes, housekeeping and back-of-house. We made branded hoodies for Bon Chic.
- Zip jackets and windcheaters: for valet, gate staff and delivery riders who are outside most of the shift.
- Chef wear: kitchens stay warm, so full-sleeve chef coats are usually enough; the problem is the walk to and from the kitchen.
Brief the winter layer in the same conversation as the main uniform, ideally by September, because October to December is typically a busy window for uniform orders in north India. Our restaurant winterwear guide compares the options in detail. For service teams that want to look smart rather than sporty, our guide to sweaters and cardigans for restaurant staff covers knit weights, necklines and embroidery.

Supplies beyond uniforms, shipped together
From a distance, it is easier to manage one supplier than four, so it often makes sense to order more than uniforms together. Our archive includes table napkins for Bon Chic and gold name badges for Lord Elgin alongside their uniforms, and delivery bags, paper packaging and thank-you cards for Burgflix. That matters more for out-of-town clients than for anyone else: if the apron and the napkin are both made in Naraina and checked side by side, the colours match when they reach you.

Where production times allow, we pack everything together and label boxes by department, so the manager in Ludhiana or Mohali can hand out kits without sorting. Items with longer lead times ship separately rather than holding up the uniforms.
Shipping and packing to Amritsar, Ludhiana and Mohali
Uniforms ship folded and bagged by role and size, with a packing list, and can be packed by staff name if you send names with sizes. Wooden and MDF items such as menus and coasters are edge-protected. Transit times vary by destination and courier, and we confirm them with the quote rather than after it. When the boxes arrive, count against the packing list the same day and tell us about anything missing or wrong straight away, so it can be fixed before your staff need it.
Reorders and multi-outlet brands across the region
Punjab brands often grow within the region, for example from Amritsar to Ludhiana or from Mohali across the tricity. Because we keep patterns, fabric codes, thread shades and artwork on file, a second outlet gets uniforms that match the first, and a top-up for new staff is a single message with sizes.
